Democrats are totally screwed
Due to the Florida/Michigan controversy, neither Obama nor Hillary can get the required 2024 delegates to win the nomination. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/07/florida.michigan/index.html MEANING: 1. Florida and Michigan will have to be redone again or 2. This will come down to SuperDelegates chosing the Democratic Presidential Nomination or 3. There will be some sort of ruling, which may or may not get contested in a court of law.

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
You know, Michigan aside, I'm so fuckin disgusted at Florida. They just fail every election. Why can't they get their *** together just once? I'm not surprised at all there's some kind of issue going on this year. Always some bullshit going on down there.

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
If the superdelegates choose the losing party (Hillary Clinton), this so-called democratic party should change its name. Seriously, if the superdelegates go with Hillary Clinton (given Obama maintains the delegate count and popular vote), I will actively campaign for John McCain.

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
Because the Republican race has ended, a lot of Republicans are choosing to vote in the Democrat primary and are voting for Hillary. In fact, Rush Limbaugh recommends it.
Many voting for Clinton to boost GOP
Seek to prolong bitter battle
By Scott Helman, Boston Globe Staff | March 17, 2008
For a party that loves to hate the Clintons, Republican voters have cast an awful lot of ballots lately for Senator Hillary Clinton: About 100,000 GOP loyalists voted for her in Ohio, 119,000 in Texas, and about 38,000 in Mississippi, exit polls show.
A sudden change of heart? Hardly.
Since Senator John McCain effectively sewed up the GOP nomination last month, Republicans have begun participating in Democratic primaries specifically to vote for Clinton, a tactic that some voters and local Republican activists think will help their party in November. With every delegate important in the tight Democratic race, this trend could help shape the outcome if it continues in the remaining Democratic primaries open to all voters.
Spurred by conservative talk radio, GOP voters who say they would never back Clinton in a general election are voting for her now for strategic reasons: Some want to prolong her bitter nomination battle with Barack Obama, others believe she would be easier to beat than Obama in the fall, or they simply want to register objections to Obama.
"It's as simple as, I don't think McCain can beat Obama if Obama is the Democratic choice," said Kyle Britt, 49, a Republican-leaning independent from Huntsville, Texas, who voted for Clinton in the March 4 primary. "I do believe Hillary can mobilize enough [anti-Clinton] people to keep her out of office."
Britt, who works in financial services, said he is certain he will vote for McCain in November.
About 1,100 miles north, in Granville, Ohio, Ben Rader, a 66-year-old retired entrepreneur, said he voted for Clinton in Ohio's primary to further confuse the Democratic race. "I'm pretty much tired of the Clintons, and to see her squirm for three or four months with Obama beating her up, it's great, it's wonderful," he said. "It broke my heart, but I had to."
Local Republican activists say stories like these abound in Texas, Ohio, and Mississippi, the three states where the recent surge in Republicans voting for Clinton was evident.
Until Texas and Ohio voted on March 4, Obama was receiving far more support than Clinton from GOP voters, many of whom have said in interviews that they were willing to buck their party because they like the Illinois senator. In eight Democratic contests in January and February where detailed exit polling data were available on Republicans, Obama received, on average, about 57 percent of voters who identified themselves as Republicans. Clinton received, on average, a quarter of the Republican votes cast in those races.
But as February gave way to March, the dynamics shifted in both parties' contests: McCain ran away with the Republican race, and Obama, after posting 10 straight victories following Super Tuesday, was poised to run away with the Democratic race. That is when Republicans swung into action.
Conservative radio giant Rush Limbaugh said on Fox News on Feb. 29 that he was urging conservatives to cross over and vote for Clinton, their bête noire nonpareil, "if they can stomach it."
"I want our party to win. I want the Democrats to lose," Limbaugh said. "They're in the midst of tearing themselves apart right now. It is fascinating to watch. And it's all going to stop if Hillary loses."
He added, "I know it's a difficult thing to do to vote for a Clinton, but it will sustain this soap opera, and it's something I think we need."
Limbaugh's exhortations seemed to work. In Ohio and Texas on March 4, Republicans comprised 9 percent of the Democratic primary electorate, more than twice the average GOP share of the turnout in the earlier contests where exit polling was conducted. Clinton ran about even with Obama among Republicans in both states, a far more favorable showing among GOP voters than in the early races.

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
this is like a comedy, the Democrats are screaming racism and crap at each other, Obama's denouncing his crazy ass pastor who said 9/11 was a good thing, and Hillary is still whining about recounts or what not.

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
Obama never denounced his pastor, just his comments. And he never said 9/11 was a good thing but rather brought on by America. And if you do not believe that, then you my friend are very ignorant.

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
I agree, there do exist extremists. But one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
How about you look at 9/11: 13 of the 15 hijackers were Saudi, our government supports the oppressive and corrupt Saudi monarchy. You do not think that gave them reason to attack us?
Our government supports Israel, a nation which did not even exist 60 years ago. Took land from the Palestinians and forced them into the conditions they are living in today. A prominent black South African archbishop went to Israel and compared the situation to the apartheid ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2002/apr/29/comment great read, highly recommended). You do not think that gave them reason to attack us?
Osama, on one of his tapes said, “any state that does not mess with our security,
has naturally guaranteed its own security.” They attacked us here because of our presence in the Middle East. Anybody who says "they hate us for our freedom" obviously does not understand the situation, just buys this government propaganda, and because of it we are even more involved in the Middle East only increasing the hatred towards our nation and only helping the recruitment process for terrorists. This so-called War on Terror is not a war we can realistically win, because this war is only encouraging more terror. While I do feel that it was wrong for this Pastor to bring up race in a church, BUT, how about you watch the Pastor's comments concerning 9/11 before you start running your mouth about it. He talks about how we are the only country to have ever used a nuclear bomb on civilian targets (which is fact), he brings up how we have supported terror against Palestinians and black South Africans (which is fact), and says that the stuff we have done overseas has now been brought back to us (which flows logically). He says that we have harmed many more people than the thousands that died on 9/11, and to say that 9/11 was an unprovoked attack makes zero sense whatsoever.

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
haha...if superdelegates switch over to hitlery, there be some RIOTS @ the DNC. http://www.larouchepac.com/news/2008/02/17/wilder-goes-wild-threatens-riots-convention-if-superdelegate.html ebruary 13, 2008 (LPAC)--Playing the fascist "Bloomberg Presidency
option" game without even knowing it, Richmond, Virginia mayor Douglas
Wilder went on CBS "Face the Nation" today and threatened pro-Barack
Obama riots at the August Democratic Convention if Obama loses the
nomination.
Wilder's outburst in debate with Hillary Clinton backer Mayor Antonio
Villaraigosa of Los Angeles, was only one example of rising pressure
being exerted through national media upon the Democratic Party's
so-called superdelegates, particularly those in the Congressional Black
Caucus. The media are giving platforms to anyone demanding the
superdelegates pledge support to Obama now, directed by "popular will,"
rather than wait to vote according their own decision at the
Convention. National Public Radio (NPR) and the Baltimore Sun joined
other media in repeating a New York Times story that Rep. John Lewis of
Georgia had switched support from Clinton to Obama, which was a
complete lie. NPR quoted that Democratic Party insider Donna Brazile as
having said she'd leave the Party if "the superdelegates were used to
broker the convention."
Wilder said, "If the superdelegates intervene and get in the way of
it, and say, `Oh, no, we're going to determine what's best,' there will
be chaos at the convention.... And if you think 1968 was bad, you
watch: 2008 will be worse." Meanwhile, McCain has a double digit lead on both. tadaow

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
What i dont get is 1. Why doesnt obama not have to reveal his past years records 2. Why doesnt anyone ask for his tax returns 3. Why doesnt the Clinton campaign question more all these new Obama associations and his past like the Mc Cain camp will do My bet is Obama wins and then loses miserably to McCain. They will dig out all kinds of dirt and he will go down in flames. It will kill his chances from ever running again too. Plus, whats the big deal over recounting and doing a brand new primary in Florida & Michigan? Its fair game. Thats so weird that Florida , once again ,is playing a major role in who gets nominated.

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
This is an excerpt from an editorial in yesterday's Boston Globe:
The race card is the wild card
By Dan Payne | March 20, 2008
IN THIS YouTube era, videos of the worst of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama's retired pastor, instantly went national. Obama's campaign knew he was trouble more than a year ago, when the flammable preacher was disinvited to the campaign kickoff.
Obama's remarkable speech on black anger and white resentment was daring, honest, and moving. But his nutty preacher's racial rants have probably already cost him Pennsylvania. Hillary Clinton will use Wright's wrongs to try to persuade superdelegates that Obama can't win the general election. Clinton has her own trouble: a 43 percent unfavorable rating nationally.
Nuts come in many colors
Why isn't the anti-Catholic, misogynistic, gay-bashing preacher John Hagee hurting John McCain, who sought Hagee's support, got it, and appeared on stage with him? Answer: Hagee is white. When whites see a white nut, we dismiss him as fringe. But a black nut? Hold on, pal.
White preachers say the darndest things. Pat Robertson: "Just like what the German *** did to the Jews, so liberal Democrats are doing to evangelical Christians."
According to his son, when evangelical pioneer Francis Schaeffer "called for the violent overthrow of the US government, he was invited to lunch with Presidents Ford, Reagan, and Bush Sr."
The late Jerry Falwell blamed the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on American pagans, abortionists, feminists, gays, and lesbians.

Re: Democrats are totally screwed
please, you know why it isn't hurting mccain? because people in his own party aren't pulling this *** out of the woodwork like they are with HIllary. If Huckabee-McCain went further, more dirt on Huckabee's sermons would have probably been used. The continuance and Hitlery's refusal to concede and admit defeat is causing this crap to surface. y'all doin it to yourself.
