Anybody else having a hard time watching the Celtics?
I watched the Celtic game last night, wanting to root for KG, and just ended up feeling sick to my stomach and developed a bad case of heartburn. It made me simultaneously pissed off at the front office and sad that KG isn't currently having this kind of success with our Wolves. Sorry for my Saudagg like post, but I was just wondering if it's hard to any of you to watch him play for another team, or if you're over him already.

I thought that I'd want to watch him and be rooting for him, but I tuned into game one and found myself not interested at all. I tried again in game two and same thing. It just didn't hold my interest at all. Just as he's moved on, apparently so have I.

Most of us have moved on If he really would of wanted to be here he still would be here.

I still love what he brought to our franchise, but all I have always cared about was the Timberwolves.

I always though I'd love to see KG win a ring, but it hurts to think when it won't be here. I find myself wanting the Lakers to win more than the Celtics. I never thought I would.

I hear you. I actually found myself rooting against the Celtics last night. Mostly I just don't want to hear the endless rips on McHale and the Wolves organization if KG's new team does win the Championship.

I don't know how to answer that question. I don't have a hard time NOT watching them, so I can't really say if it's hard to watch them.

Re: Anybody else having a hard time watching the Celtics?
I'm rooting for KG. To me, he's the best player this franchise had and he deserves everything coming his way. But I missed the first few games - probably because I think the outcome is predetermined. (Yeah, the Hawks have a chance - if Boston's plane crashes.) Once there's a better opponent on deck I'll start watching.
Also, I'm a sucker for a Cinderella story. "Celtics go from laughingstock to NBA champions - in one season!" (I know, I know, "Dewey defeats Truman...")
And I simply cannot get behind any team featuring Kobe. Period.

I can't wait for a Lakers and Celtics final, the media is going to blow that up so much.

If Detroit doesn't pull their heads out of their collective ass pretty soon, they might not even get past Philly.

If Detroit doesn't pull their heads out of their collective ass pretty soon, they might not even get past Philly. No kidding! And Orlando is lucky to be at 2-1 with the way it seemed they kinda escaped in Game Two.......the East is looking like more and more of a cake-walk for Boston than I even thought it was going to be. Pity whomever has to face them after the grind that the West is going to be (though the way San Antonio is playing, that might not be as balanced as it once appeared either either).

I'm happy for KG. A guy that good should never retire without a ring. IMO, he's a top five power forward all time, if not the best, and I'd hate for him to have the luck Malone and Barkley did. Plus, Allen and Pierce are two guys who deserve a real shot as well. Its nice to see talented guys who have been squandered for years finally have that chance to win it all.

As much as I HATE the Spurs, but if the Spurs and Celtics met in the finals, I want the Spurs to win. I just am at that point where I want to see the Celtics get their collective asses handed to them. I am tired of seeing all the tv spots where how all of a sudden KG is the biggest name in the league since MJ. It just drives me nuts that KG never got that kind of treatment when he was here. Ugh, yes I know, I do have a complex.....
And Jamebo, NO SMART REMARKS!

Sometimes, fate just doesn't happen the way you want it too. I hate the notion that having a ring makes you a better player, or makes a player more of a legend. It's overrated in team sports. Jesus, Robert Horry has like 29 championship rings, is he a better player than Garnett? I still contest that KG has always been a better player than Tim Duncan, but Duncan has had the luxury of great teammates and a fantastic coach.

And Jamebo, NO SMART REMARKS! Okay. Tonight the Spurs look like they could roll the '92 Dream Team! If Tony Parker is playing like this, San Antonio won't have anything to fear from the boys in green.

Man, I hate the Spurs, but you can't help but be impressed by them right now. They are steam-rolling the Suns. I had my doubts about whether the Suns could do it this year or not, but I didn't expect them to get embarrassed like this. Maybe next year for the Suns. Shaq needs to rededicate himself to a conditioning program in the offseason.

I don't think the Suns have what it takes, and it will be difficult for them to get there in a year. They lack balance. Too much gimmick, not enough grit.

The T-Wolves should get the #1 pick for making that possible.
Wittman’s credentials as a losing coach are unimpeachable.

It was probably pretty hard for Celtics fans to watch that 4th quarter last night.

Re: Anybody else having a hard time watching the Celtics?
I still wasn't interested enough to sit and watch, but I did keep jumping over to see the game. For me though, it was about watching this team that was very recently considered the laughing stock of the NBA evening up the series. All I could think about was that this could be the Wolves in 2 or 3 years. I was lovin' it!
