Is LeBron The Most Overrated Player In The League?

Seriously, on what planet is he an MVP candidate? His team is a little bit better than a 500 team and he has been choking on more *** than Jenna Jameson in this postseason.

Winning the 2007 Eastern conference is not much of an accomplishment. Look at that conference!

I don't think he will ever be on the level of Kobe and Jordan. Those guys have an automatic jumper which you know will go in when it is crunch time. LeBron does not have that. Nor do I think he ever will, he doesn't seem to have that "I'm the best" mentality.

give the guy some time right now he's relying way too much on his athelticism and body size

I don't see how he can be considered overrated. 1 single first place MVP vote and nobody claims he can make FT's or play great D. He is what he is and he's getting better.

Haven't people realized with KG's turnaround with the Cs and Kobe's performance with Odom and Gasol that the surrounding players make a whole heck of a lot of difference. Who's the 2nd best offensive option on the Cavs big Z? Ya think a team might be better able to defend a guy who has big Z than a guy who has Odom and Gasol or Peirce and Allen?

Lebron's temates shot a combined 36% in game 1 and 40% in game 2. Its like Jordan rules all over again. Except trusting hos teamates doesn't help becuase he already passes to them but they miss anyways.

Thats has to be the dumbest thing Ive ever seen. Do you not watch the man play? Put him on any team with players like Kobe & KG has to support them and ...presto . With that group of losers , they went to the Finals last year. Who ya think got them there? Bron just needs help. It is , after all , a team sport

LeBron is not overrated at all. He is ridiculous. If he was on a good team...

Nobody does it alone.  Kobe didn't look great when he had to carry the Lakers single-handedly, now that he's got Gasol, Bynum, and Odom he looks like an MVP.  Bird and Magic never won a title where they didn't have a couple other Hall of Famers on the team with them.  Even Michael Jordan never had a .500 season when Pippen wasn't his teammate.  LeBron rightly deserved the MVP votes he got -- that roster would be in the cellar without him.

LeBron has looked great against the Pistons in the playoffs the last couple of years.  He looked fine against Washington in the first round.  Now he's up against Boston, the best defense in the league, and they're swarming him.  At least two guys are on him whenever he puts the ball on the floor, and the other three guys are playing the passing angles to cut off LeBron's obvious outlets.

LeBron has already come a long way with his jumper and defense from when he was a rookie.  He's still only 23.  He'll continue to improve.  But he's not going to win a title unless he gets better teammates.

Its hard to be a Boston sports fan. Do you know how much we have to spend on championship T-shirts and hats? -- Caller to WEEI radio

8/48 with 16 turnovers is not the fault of his teammates. Missing layups is not the fault of Big Z.

Did you know that the defense he is facing is the best since the 1993 Knicks?

I just don't understand how you can point to a players poor performance against one of the best defenses in the history of the game and say that it means he's overrated.  It makes no logical sense at all.

LeBron does not have the thing which separates superstars from all-stars. The thing is balls.

It is the confidence that when the game is on the line, you are the one who steps up and takes the big shots, and the big shots go in as if it is automatic.

Jordan had it (came into the league with it), Kobe has it, Chris Paul has it, Melo has it (just look at his team USA performances, he was clearly more of a leader than LeBron was), Roy has it. LeBron does not.

LeBron is a Scottie Pippen (great player, better complement player than star player) regarded as a Jordan (superstar).

Did you just say Melo, he who chokes come playoff time and can't stop getting into trouble off the court, has IT more than Lebron? That's nuts man. Sorry. But there is NOTHING to support that claim.

I think he's overrated only in the sense that too many people are trying to crown him too early in his career.  He has holes in his game and that's only being magnified in the playoffs.  I'd still take that dude on my team any day of the week.  Amazing talent and physical tools.

Who was the best player on the pre-Kobe Team USAs? HINT: it wasn't LeBron nor was it Wade.

    1. W.G.A.F.F. about the Olympics? Let alone Olympic teams that sucked.

    2. Scoring points doesn't make one the best player. I'd take the majority of those players over Melo anyday. He's a loser and he'll always be a loser. He's nothing more than a commercialized Glen Robinson at best.

    3. Lebron is 10 times the player than Melo is. It's not even proper to compare them it's such a huge divide.

Have you not paid attention to Lebrons career at all?  Have you already forgotten the time he scored 29 of his teams final 30 points(including the game winner with 2.2 seconds left) against the Pistons in last years playoffs?  Did you miss the game before that one where he went 4-6 in from the floor and 5-5 from the line(including the 2 free throws that made the game 91-87 with with 4 seconds remaining)?  Did you miss his two tough contested layups that he made when the Wizards tied the game near the end of game 1 of their series this year?

There is no player who is "automatic" with the game on the line.  There are a lot of times when Jordan missed shots that could have won or tied games in the dying seconds.  While he has definitely succeeded, Kobe has had a lot of times where he has failed with the game on the line.  You're just making *** up to try to bring James down.

If only Lebron had the balls to take and make big shots in big games, the Cavaliers might have won that game.
