    According to Hoopshype.com...

The Bucks are willing to trade the #7 pick.  If we landed the #1 or #2 pick and ended up with Rose, would anyone be opposed to sending both of our #2 picks and McCants for the #7 pick?  We could acquire a PG and a C in this draft then.

Wittman’s credentials as a losing coach are unimpeachable.

I've been telling friends and family for months that, regardless of what pick we get, I want to trade McCants and the necessary combination of our number 2's and even Miami's future number 1 to get another lottery pick this year. We have two positions of great need in PG and C, and McCants is completely expendable to me. It makes too much sense not to do if a team will take it.

I would do it in a heartbeat. Where did you read that the Bucks want to possibly trade their pick?

That's interesting. I wished that the Bucks would divulge a bit on what they are looking for in return.

I would definitely move up to seven with McCants and 2 2nd's if we got Rose.  I like McCants, but Foye will be fine at the 2, and we need a big man.

I'd trade Foye before I'd trade McCants, especially if you're looking to get a PG in return. IMO, McCants is a better SG than Foye. So why trade away our best SG?

Then we'd have a combo guard and a PG. I think that Rose and McCants would be a much more prolific combo than Rose and Foye.

I got to disagree with you Chaos. I think Mayo and Foye is more dynamic (or Rose and Foye when you posted) because I think there is a lot to be said about two guys that are legit ball handlers in the back court. That, and I don't see McCants' ceiling as anything more tha one of the better 6th men in the league, and right now that isn't what we need on this team.

Is this still in play?  If we draft Mayo, I'd be all about getting back into the 7th spot to take one of McHale's "8 guys that we really like".

and yes, I am new to this board so I will kindly GFM.  :)

With Michael Redd and Maurice Williams ... would McCants be enough for the 7th?

And why give up on Bogut?

I am all for holding this pick until the last minute to see how much we can wring out of everyone trying to get Mayo or if a shocker happens Rose or Beasley. We are in an enviable position for the first time in many a draft. The offers should be really interesting. I wish I felt the FO was up to sorting out the best of them. Oh, I can see a field day for the nay sayers coming big time.

There is the potential to turn this off season into the most productive in our history if the FO can leverage our assets to the max. Of course the opposite is also
possible but, we won't dwell on that little detail will we?

Who do you want us to draft?

    Re: According to Hoopshype.com...

No matter where we draft I want the BPA, if we start drafting for need this high in the lottery, even in the top 8 it's nuts! We don't have that great a team we can bypass a better player to fill a hole, this team is Swiss cheese right now. No one but Jefferson has proven to be non- expendable. I want them to get the best value for the pick available. I don't know if Bogut will be any kind of answer for us, I have my doubts on him but, I could understand trying to maximize our out come by working the deal. I am willing to bet there will be more offers before the deed is done.

Whatever the deal it better be in place and rock solid by draft day these last second shenanigans have burned us before.

In my heart I really wish they would just draft Mayo and be done with it. I don't think it will happen though, they won't be able to resist trying to do something spectacular to draw in the fans. I don't see them doing the slow and steady will get us there route. If they think they can shortcut their way to the playoffs they might go for the quick fix. That has burned them before too.

As soon as I heard they got the 3 pick I began to worry and I won't stop until the draft is done. I don't trust them, I just can't. Hearing they like Lopez over Mayo isn't helping. A big man who has already had health issues at his young age just plain scares me at the 3. I don't know enough about his play to say yea or ney on it. I am trying to keep it positive but, dammit it's not easy with those knuckleheads in charge.

I agree totally with you something says that we will turn out to pick someone else other than best player available i will be furios if we don't take Mayo.

Shoot!  If they would do that I would in a second...but I doubt they would.  I do think that we could get a late teens or early 20's pick for that package though.  I would do that too!

    Re: According to Hoopshype.com...

Again, I will continue to say this until I am blue in the face, this team needs a superstar type player next to Al Jefferson. At the three spot in the draft, they have to go with O.J. Mayo or whoever falls if Mayo is picked ahead of us. Everyone else seems to be second tier players.
