    Love?

Draft express is reporting that McHale is high on Love. Does anyone else see this as the way to go? It says that they would trade with Memphis for their pick and either Lowry, Crittendon, or Warrick. I was all for getting Lowry last year but, I don't know enough about Love to know if this is something we should bite at.

I haven't heard a whole lotta Love for Love on any of the boards.

I think I'm higher on Love than most people I've debated with, but that doesn't mean I think he's a top 5 pick. I would be all over trading down and getting Warrick in return, maybe even Lowry. I'm not real intrigued by Crittendon, other than his size and I'll admit it's because I don't know much about him. Draft Express has Love going 5 to the Grizz. Chad Ford has him going 14 to the Warriors. That's a pretty big difference which leads me to an interesting thought ...

Why not trade down twice? We could potentially swap and pick up a player from the Grizz, and then maybe even do the same with the Bucks at 8 if there is something on the board they want. I wouldn't necessarily like watching the Wolves slide, but if they do I'd like to see them be creative about it and pick up some pieces along the way. Personally, I think Love should be available at 8 and if you could get Warrick/Lowry and something from the Bucks, as well as Love, you just had a pretty good day in my book.

I say no way to Kevin Love. We already have a PF in Jefferson. Love will NOT translate to an NBA center. IMO, the guy is way too overrated. I would compare him to the Big Nasty Corliss Williamson from Arkansas. A decent player, but not someone who is going to light the world on fire.

I say he is a bust within 3 years. He's got bad knees and is only now getting in shape. I say high probability of knee issues affecting his monility and without that monility he's just another BWS. He's also not a low post center he's more of a face up high post big man and frankly most of those guys end up not being quick enough to defend the perimiter or strong enough to put them on low post players. I know he blocks some shots but I just don't see it translating to the NBA.

I wouldn't say a complete bust, but I do not see Kevin Love lighting the NBA on fire by any means. I envision a long career as a back-up role player type. But nothing more than that.

I want nothing to do with Lopez or Love but if i have to have one i would take Lopez. I want us to take Mayo or Rose. And trade our 2 seconds for another center in draft. Problem solved. We will all be happy than. Even Dummyte.

    Re: Love?

He measured out under 6 foot 8 without shoes (apparently he wore the biggest lifts he could find his shoes on being 1 3/4 inches higher the biggest difference of any player but most of all he tested out at 13% body fat 4th worst off all the players in Orlando. 13% for a top flight college bball player is horrible. He's had what 3 months to get ready for this camp and he's still at 13%? Shorter than expected, out of shape, bad knees..spells future bust.

There is no reason for the Wolves to draft Kevin Love. None. We already have a fantastic power forward in Jefferson. If the Wolves want to draft a big, then go Lopez (but I do not like his upside either). Go with Mayo, period.

I was just about to post this ... he's under 6'8" and has a wingspan and reach smaller than Ryan Gomes.  He doesn't have the athleticism to make up for his physical deficiencies.  Whoever drafts him will be making a mistake.

I do actually see him being a backup for a good time in the NBA, but nothing more.
