    Now that D'Antoni is gone

how effective you think will Steve Nash be without that run n gun system ? will he still be able to be that difference maker he was 3-4 years ago ? or will he turn into a just "above average" pg ?

I think the better question is, which of the Knicks is going to put up 10+ assists per game?  After all, it was all the system, right?

my best bet would be Jamal Crawford if he doesnt get traded, he has the ability to break down the defense and draw defendes out to kick either to the bigs or open shooters on the perimeter also most likely has the best handles of anyone on that team.  My next bet would be Nate Robinson

And you know nothing about basketball. There is a reason why the Knicks new group and Marbury are talking and why coaches former and current are still saying that he is the PG and leader of that team. While Crawford is not a bad choice he is not the top choice considering that Marbury is one of the only players to avg 20/10 for multiple seasons. Silly Poopsworld fans.

Nash is one of the best ever, a player like that can excel in any system.

Defensive approach in PHX?  I have NEVER seen that, Colangelo has always pushed the run and gun stuff and to be honest I don't expect it to change very much.  They'll struggle with the new concepts and as soon as they do the word will come down and they'll be the same old Suns.

Re: Now that D'Antoni is gone

Marbury in his 5 years with the Knicks...

FG%:  .431, .462, .451, .415, .419  Ability to shoot DECLINING past 30?  Never happens with a true star, they get better as they mature.

FT%:  .833, .844, .755, .769, .716  Again, this stat should be improving at this point in his career, not the opposite.

APG:  9.3, 8.1, 6.4, 5.4, 4.7  Let me put it this way, when you're shooting like THAT ^ your assists SHOULD be over 10.

PPG:  19.8, 21.7, 16.3, 16.4, 13.9  Well, when you shoot like that I guess I can understand that stat.

Add in the fact that he's a defensive liability (due to the fact that he's fucking lazy), makes stupid decisions, doesn't play team ball well, and is a complete headache for any coach he's ever played for and this guy doesn't look like a "leader" on any team.  Who are these former coaches and players saying all this, source?

When I look at these numbers, all I see is a guy who should have transcended the game by this point in his career.  Instead, his career is already on the decline and he won't last another 5 years in the NBA.

    LAZY, LAZY, LAZY.

Marbury AND Tinsley. Poor D'Antoni would probably end up hanging himself.

I'd also expect the Knicks PG to start shooting 50% from the floor,90% from the line and 40% from 3 like Nash since that was the syatem too? Yeah Balkamn should average 18 ppg and 10 rpg like Marion becuase we all know that was just the system (despite the fact he did it before the system and away from the system right?)

...and Isiah is the greatest GM/coach of all time.

Silly Poopsworld fans, how can you not see the obvious? Knicks were contenders last year with their all-star point guard and coach.

Is this post serious God's Son? On what planet is Marbury a 20/10 guy? WTF are you smoking and can I get some?

not that i have any love for Godson , but during the  03 -04 season Stephon's stat line

    03-04 NYK 47 47 39.1 0.431 0.321 0.833 0.8 2.3 3.1 9.3 1.4 0.1 3.23 2.10 19.8

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/stephon_marbury/career_stats.html

he actually averaged 19.8ppg and 9.3apg so apparently on the planet earth during 2003-2004 he was 2tenths and 7tenths away from being a 20 and 10 guy i believe that was under Lenny Wilkens and with everyone's praise of D'Antoni then he has a chance of actually doing the same under a coach of close to if not the same caliber ? granted it was only for 47 games

That 2003-04 line with the Knicks was for just over half a season, not a full season.
